Comics For Crazy Cat Lovers

a collection of 4 illustrated cat books

OK so the title of this post may be a bit misleading as it's more like four illustrated books for cat lovers, but that doesn't quite flow off the tongue as nicely. Anyway, if you are a huge cat fan like me then you will love these books and will be able to relate to a lot of them!

a collection of cat poems

Let's start with something a bit different, a poem book. Cat vs Human, Poems about Cats is full of poems about cats (surprise surprise!) ranging from Shakespeare to Blake and with other cat themed poems in there such as nursery rhymes.
The poems are all illustrated by Yasmine Surovec whose work is some of my favourite. The illustrations are gorgeous and glossy and go so well with the poems themselves.

book by the Oatmeal

Next up is How to Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting to Kill You, a collection or all the most popular cat comics, facts and guides from TheOatmeal.com
If you have ever visited The Oatmeal then you will have a good idea of what to expect, but for those of you who haven't you are in for a treat. This is a super funny collection that explores how much of a dick cats can be. We all know that if cats had opposable thumbs most of us would be dead right now and this book explores the darker side of cats but with lots of humor thrown in.

Cat comic book

Cat Person by Seo Kim is another collection of comics, the first half of the book focuses solely on cats but later in the book it goes on to feature more subjects.
Seo Kim has a very unique and lovely art style, it's easy to spot her work from miles away. Her outlook on life is often quite cynical, but I think most cat people can relate to that.

another dose of catnip

The last book on my list is yet another Cat vs Human one, (did I mention Yasmine Surovec is my favourite?) this one is titled Another Dose of Catnip and is the follow up to the original Cat vs Human. Both collections are just full of really amusing comics about crazy cat ladies and cats in general.
As a crazy cat lady I relate to every single page in this book and I think I annoyed all my friends and family by shoving the book under their noses whilst exclaiming about how true it is. If you are a crazy cat lady/fella I seriously recommend picking this one up.

I hope you enjoyed my crazy cat lady comic recommendations as much as I enjoyed finding them, my only hope is that they bring out a proper weekly cat comic!
